Curriculum for Primary Level
Primary education at The Bharath Academy covers from first grade to the third grade. Our curriculum empowers natural curiosity at this age in learners, to explore and discover concepts in and around the world. Our primary curriculum endeavours to provide a comprehensive learning experience and foster a rich variety of approaches to teaching and learning that cater to the different needs of individual students. The curriculum is entirely focused on the encouraging students to ask questions, both big and small. This helps them learn and moreover, grasp what they learn better. Our curriculum is centered around this reality. It engages the student’s imagination while working with concrete materials to gain an academic experience. The program is interdisciplinary, hands-on, experimental and open-ended, presented in an environment of mutual respect and appreciation.
The curriculum is planned and organized in a systematic manner. It aims at enabling learners to acquire self-confidence, nurture curiosity, develop competencies, and other pertinent skills that have a long term impact.
It emphasizes the importance of literacy, numeracy, language development, values, attitudes, cross-cutting issues, and consistent assessment.
The curriculum is presented in the below areas
Our curriculum explores five key subject areas in mathematics: number, geometry, measure, handling data and problem-solving by focusing on principles, patterns, systems, functions, and relationships.
Our curriculum explores the main subject areas in science: scientific-inquiry, biology, chemistry, and physics. Environmental awareness and history of science are also part of the curriculum.
To acquire a first language competency in English based on a curriculum designed to acquire speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English.

Art & Design
To enable learners to express themselves whilst experiencing, creating and reflecting on art.
To focus on promoting learners movement skills and establishing healthy patterns of living by exploring the skills of creativity, collaboration, leadership, and responsibility.
To enable learners to acquire skills they need to use digital tools in an informed and effective way and get a more detailed understanding of the digital world.
To cultivate a joy for music, widen their experience and appreciation of music.
